I am passionate about supporting and advocating for my clients as they work towards their goals. I believe that therapy is for everyone and that embarking on this journey with an open mind allows clients to gain new perspectives and increased awareness of their current situation. I utilize research-based therapeutic theories and interventions to assist clients in making change as efficiently as possible.
Bringing my skills, expertise and knowledge to the Raleigh-Durham area has been a exciting and invigorating experience.
I attended the University of Northern Iowa for my under-graduate degree in psychology. During this time I discovered a passion and desire to be able to help individuals and families succeed and grow.
After completing my major course work I transitioned to completing my Master's degree at St. Cloud State University in Marriage and Family Therapy. The focus of my studies allowed me to connect my core values and upbringing with my passion for helping others and individuals.
As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I am trained in systems theory which has taught me to look beyond the individual and to examine the complexities and relationships that form the backdrop for every individual.
I have spent a extensive time receiving credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. This allows me to to engage children in therapy in a developmentally appropriate way to achieve the best results.
Licensed to practice in Iowa and North Carolina.
